Debrecen steal MTK's Czvitkovics

Newly crowned Hungarian champions Debreceni VSC have signed the 24-year-old midfield player Péter Czvitkovics from their closest 1. Liga challengers MTK Budapest.

Hungarian champions Debreceni VSC have signed midfielder Péter Czvitkovics from 1. Liga runners-up MTK Budapest.

'Time for a change'
The 24-year-old has accepted a four-year contract with Debrecen and leaves MTK after nine seasons in or around the first team. "It will be strange playing against my old club next season, but I felt it was the right time to move," said Czvitkovics, who scored 27 goals in 157 league games for the capital team. The one-time FC Fehérvár schoolboy has been capped once by Hungary, against Malta last October.
