Galatasaray SK's summer recruitment drive has seen midfielder Lincoln become the latest big name to arrive in Istanbul after a €5m switch from FC Schalke 04.
The 28-year-old has just helped Schalke to second place in the Bundesliga, earning them an automatic spot in the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League. He scored three league goals in 23 games this season, but also made eight assists for team-mates. It was his third campaign at Schalke, having spent the previous three seasons at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. A product of CA Minerio in his homeland, Lincoln is the third foreign recruit for Galatasaray in ten days, with the UEFA Cup contenders having also signed Sweden captain Tobias Linderoth and Algeria defender Ismaël Bouzid.
