AS Livorno Calcio have found a replacement for hometown hero Cristiano Lucarelli, signing the former Spain striker Diego Tristán on a free transfer.
With Lucarelli having departed for FC Shakhtar Donetsk in an €8m deal after scoring 94 goals in 146 league matches for Livorno, the Amaranto have turned to another 31-year-old who knows all about representing a club with distinction. Tristán struck 78 goals in 177 games over six seaons at RC Deportivo La Coruña before joining his former club RCD Mallorca last term. Tristán won 15 caps for Spain, scoring four international goals.
