RCD Mallorca have agreed to sign Uruguayan international midfielder Gonzalo Castro from Montevideo side Club Nacional de Football.

League titles
The 22-year-old has agreed a contract at Mallorca running until 2012 after leaving the club where he made his senior debut in 2003 and went on to win two Uruguayan league titles, finishing among the top three scorers in the 2005/06 championship. Capped three times at international level, Castro will undergo a medical in Palma today.

Good reference
Castro said: "Mallorca has been in the Primera División for a long time so I hope I can do my very best and help achieve the club's objectives. I have been in the national team with Gonzalo de los Santos [who was on loan at Mallorca during the 2005/06 season] and he told me good things about the club." Mallorca begin the new campaign at home to Levante UD on 26 August.
