The Chinese international Qu Bo will join Tottenham Hotspur FC in the summer ahead of the 2003/04 season.
The Premiership club announced today that terms have been agreed with both the player and his club, FC Qingdao Yizhong. A club statement said: "[Qu Bo] will join us for the start of pre-season training when we hope to complete the formalities of a medical and obtaining a work permit."
Qu impressed during a trial with Tottenham last summer, which led to a permanent deal being arranged. The forward has won 19 caps for his country, scoring three goals, and featured in all three of China's games during the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
He becomes the latest Chinese player to move to England, with international team-mates Sun Jihai and Li Tie important figures at Manchester City FC and Everton FC respectively.
He will become the second player from the Far East at White Hart Lane after Kazuyuki Toda joined the London club during the January transfer window. However, the Japanese international has yet to make his first-team debut for Spurs.
