Pyunik snap up duo

In a bid to fill the gap left by the departure of Arman Karamyan, FC Pyunik have signed two new players.

Armenian champions FC Pyunik have reinforced their squad by signing Mali striker Issa Traore and midfield player Eduard Partsikyan in a bid to fill the gap left by top scorer Arman Karamyan's departure for Greek side Panahaiki GC.

'High hopes'
"We have high hopes for both players, who have obviously strengthened our team," said Pyunik coach Samvel Petrosyan. The 23-year-old Traore joins from FC Djuliba in his home country and has signed a two-year contract. Traore will link up with fellow Mali striker Mamadou Diawara in the Pyunik side.

Partsikyan call
Meanwhile, Partsikyan, who formerly played for FC Rubin Kazan in Russia, has also impressed national coach Andranik Adamyan sufficiently to be added to the Armenia squad to face Northern Ireland and Spain in UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers on 29 March and 2 April.
