Vjekoslav Lokica has replaced Mladen Mladenović as coach of Croatian side HNK Rijeka.

Vjekoslav Lokica has replaced Mladen Mladenović as coach of Croatian side HNK Rijeka.

Short-term appointment
Lokica, who formerly coached NK Šibenik and NK Osijek, will take charge at the Kantrida stadium until the summer.

Poor results
Robert Rubcic will remain as assistant coach following the dismissal of Mladen Mladenovic on Tuesday after a string of poor results that has left the club a place above the relegation zone.

Second choice
Rijeka chairman Dusko Grabovac moved for Lokica after second division NK Uljanik's coach Elvis Scoria rejected an offer to take over.
