Cagliari dismiss Giampaolo again

Cagliari Calcio have parted company with coach Marco Giampaolo after a poor start to their Serie A campaign which has seen the side from Sardinia earn just nine points from eleven games.

Second dismissal
The 40-year-old Giampaolo was sacked in December 2006 and then reappointed in February, helping Cagliari to avoid relegation. He is the fourth Serie A coach to lose his job this season and the second in two days following AC Siena's decision to replace Andrea Mandorlini with Mario Beretta yesterday. Cagliari are yet to announce the name of Giampaolo's replacement, with the experienced Nedo Sonetti regarded as the favourite to take over.
