Three more years
Lopo, 22, started with Espanyol's youth programme but has worked his way through the ranks to the first team. His previous deal was due to expire in June but he is now contracted to stay in Barcelona until 2006.

Positivity needed
The news will be a welcome lift to the club as they battle to avoid relegation from the Primera División. They are three places above the drop zone, but only one point clear of safety.
