AC Chievo Verona goalkeeper Cristiano Lupatelli has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season.
Cruciate ligament injury
Lupatelli was injured during training yesterday, picking up a suspected cruciate ligament injury to his right knee, the club confirmed today. The former AS Roma goalkeeper, part of the capital club's 2001 Scudetto-winning team, will undergo further tests to confirm the estimated time of recovery.
The Perugia-born 24-year-old has been a regular in Luigi Del Neri's first team for the past two years, making 26 appearances for the Serie A side this season. His injury could give a chance to Marco Ambrosio, who made two appearances last season.
Champions League bid
Chievo lie sixth in Serie A, four points adrift of S.S. Lazio in the fourth UEFA Champions League qualifying berth with seven games left this season.
