Llanelli AFC picked up their second trophy of the season when they beat Rhyl FC 2-0 in the Welsh League Cup final played at Newtown AFC's Latham Park ground.

Treble chance
First-half goals from Andrew Mumford and Chris Holloway left no way back for Rhyl as Llanelli claimed a first-ever success in the competition, just two weeks after they celebrated winning the league. The west Wales club had previously not won a major trophy in their 112-year history; now they have two on the sideboard with the chance to make it three. This weekend coming, Peter Nicholas' team contest the Welsh Cup final against Bangor City FC. For Rhyl, it was their third successive League Cup final defeat. They have appeared in the final in five of the last six years.
