Agreement
The UEFA Champions League contenders have paid €7m for 70 per cent of his playing contract after Rodríguez spent the 2007/08 season at Liga rivals SL Benfica. The Lisbon side were keen to keep the 22-year-old at the Estádio da Luz, where he scored six goals in 24 games, but the two parties could not reach an agreement. The Uruguayan international started his career at CA Peñarol in his homeland before moving to Europe with Paris Saint-Germain FC for whom he played 36 times in three seasons.
