Sevilla FC have signed Athletic Club Bilbao defender Aitor Ocio on a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old Basque arrives on a free transfer and will be officially presented to the media on Monday. Ocio will have a €15m buyout clause in his contract, unless Bilbao buy him back in which case a transfer fee would be €10m.
José María del Nido, the Sevilla president, said the Andalusian club had signed the player despite interest from RC Deportivo La Coruña and Chelsea FC. He also announced that Argentinian striker Mariano Toedtli will spend next season on loan at relegated RC Recreativo de Huelva.
