José María del Nido, the Sevilla president, said the Andalusian club had signed the player despite interest from RC Deportivo La Coruña and Chelsea FC. He also announced that Argentinian striker Mariano Toedtli will spend next season on loan at relegated RC Recreativo de Huelva.
