Spanish newcomers Real Zaragoza have signed Argentinian international midfield player Leonardo Ponzio.

Spanish newcomers Real Zaragoza have signed the Argentinian international midfield player Leonardo Ponzio.

Ambition abroad
The 21-year-old has joined in a €3m transfer from CA Newell's Old Boys and will be unveiled by Zaragoza on Thursday. "I have always wanted to play in such an important league," said Ponzio. "I know I am very young but I think I am ready to play abroad."

Vellisca staying
Meanwhile, Zaragoza veteran Martín Vellisca will extend his contract with the club for one more season. The 36-year-old midfield player had hoped for a two-year deal with the club he joined in 1999/00.
