The UEFA Executive Committee met in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, on Wednesday 22 May and made several key decisions, including UEFA club competition final host venues, the procedure for the final draw of UEFA Women's EURO 2025, and also received an update on the Standing Facilities Observer Programme. The meeting took place ahead of the Europa League final between Italian side Atalanta and newly crowned Bundesliga champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen, who are on course for an historic unbeaten season across all competitions.
UEFA club competition finals
The hosts for upcoming UEFA club competition finals were appointed as follows:
UEFA Champions League
- 2026: Budapest, Puskás Aréna
- 2027: Decision suspended until September 2024, subject to the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) submitting information on refurbishment plans for the San Siro stadium in Milan.
UEFA Europa League
- 2026: Istanbul, Beşiktaş Park
- 2027: Frankfurt, Stadion Frankfurt
UEFA Conference League
- 2026: Leipzig, RB Arena
- 2027: Istanbul, Beşiktaş Park
UEFA Women’s Champions League
- 2026: Oslo, Ullevaal Stadion
- 2027: New bidding procedure to be opened as Germany has already been appointed for finals in 2026 and 2027, meaning the bid from Stuttgart could not be considered.
UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 final draw
The procedure for the final draw for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, which will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 16 December 2024, was approved.
The 16-team final tournament will be played between 2 and 27 July in the cities of Basel (opening and final), Bern, Geneva, Lucerne, Sion, St. Gallen, Thun and Zurich.
Standing Facilities Observer Programme
The UEFA Executive Committee received an update on the Standing Facilities Observer Programme, which has been ongoing since the start of the 2022/23 season, and approved the extension of the programme for the 2024/25 season, with the addition of clubs from Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Scotland and Austria, where standing facilities are allowed at domestic level. This will ensure a greater sample size and diversity of data.
