UEFA Cup qualification
The 31-year-old Polish striker has signed a one-year contract with an option for a further year with the club, who finished third in the league and will therefore play in next season's UEFA Cup.
Proven scoring record
Kowalczyk began his career with Legia Warszawa, where he scored 32 goals in 94 games before moving to Spain. He then moved to Spanish side Real Betis Balompié, before joining Anorthosis Famagusta FC two seasons ago where he scored 24 goals in his first season as the club finished second in the league and won the Cypriot Cup. He has been without a club since his contract was terminated in October.
