Möller calls it a day

FC Schalke 04's former German international Andreas Möller has decided to retire from football.

Time to quit
The 35-year old had thought about continuing his career in the United States or in Qatar, but decided to call it quits. "The offers were there, but I will call it a day," he said. Möller plans to stay in football but is not sure exactly which direction his career will take. "Maybe I will go for my trainer's licence, but I think something along the lines of team manager would suit me much better," he added.

European glory
Möller, who helped West Germany win the 1990 FIFA World Cup, made a total of 418 appearances in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt, BV Borussia Dortmund and finally FC Schalke 04, scoring 110 goals. He also played 56 games for Italian side Juventus FC, scoring 19 goals after moving to Serie A for two years in 1992. Möller tasted UEFA Cup success with Juventus in 1993 and UEFA Champions League glory with Dortmund four years later.

International caps
As well as the World Cup win in Italy, Möller was also part of the German side that triumphed in the 1996 UEFA European Championship. He was capped 85 times by his country scoring 30 goals.
