Ihor Belanov, the former European Footballer of the Year, has been appointed president of FC Wil 1900.
New president
Belanov, who starred for FC Dynamo Kyiv and the Soviet Union in the 1980s, acquired the Swiss club last year and was named as their new president after an extraordinary board meeting today. He replaces previous incumbent Beni Burschter.
Board reduced
Additionally, the number of directors on the Wil board has been reduced from five to three. Aside from Belanov, Heinrich Hoffman and Hans Hutter will also serve on the board.
