López, who replaced the sacked Claudio Ranieri at the helm of the Spanish champions last month, will remain in charge of first-team affairs at least until the end of the current campaign. Whatever the decision then made on Ranieri's long-term successor, the 47-year-old is guaranteed a position as the club's director of football.
