Unstoppable Inter see off Siena

FC Internazionale Milano made it eleven victories in a row by beating AC Siena 2-0 to remain four points clear of in-form AS Roma, who defeated Atalanta BC.

FC Internazionale Milano remain four points clear of AS Roma at the top of Serie A after their 2-0 victory against AC Siena on Saturday.

Argentinian scorers
Nicolás Burdisso opened the scoring 12 minutes into the game when he got his head to a corner kick and the ball went in off the crossbar to add to his two similar goals in the midweek Coppa Italia defeat of FC Messina Peloro. Siena were awarded a penalty early in the second half when Maicon fouled Abdoulay Konko but Júlio César saved Mario Frick's effort and Hernán Crespo struck five minutes later when he was set up by Zlatan Ibrahimović and lifted his shot above visiting goalkeeper Alex Manninger to secure Inter's eleventh competitive win a row and stretch their unbeaten run to 15.

Totti saves Roma
Roma made sure they did not full further behind as they came from behind to beat Atalanta BC 2-1 in Saturday's other game. Riccardo Zampagna gave Atalanta a 21st-minute lead after Roma goalkeeper Doni could only parry a Massimo Donati shot. But Francesco Totti equalised from the penalty spot six minutes into the second half following a foul on substitute Simone Perrotta by Simone Loria and the Roma captain struck again from the spot not long after the hour mark, having been made to retake an initial successful effort, when he was brought down by Giulio Migliaccio. Donati was sent off just before the end for a two-footed tackle on Perrotta. The victory was Roma's sixth in succession in Serie A - only one short of Inter's current league run.
