It was a Sunday to forget for the Milan clubs as both AC Milan and FC Internazionale Milano suffered defeats in Serie A.

Away against Udinese Calcio, Massimiliano Allegri's Rossoneri endured a third defeat in their four league outings despite Stephan El Shaarawy cancelling out Mathias Ranégie's opener for the hosts just before half-time. The visitors lost Cristián Zapata to a 66th-minute red card for bringing down Ranégie and Antonio Di Natale tucked in the resultant spot kick, before Milan ended with nine men following Kevin Prince-Boateng's late sending-off.

As for Inter, they suffered their second home loss of the campaign as Simone Vergassola and Francesco Valiani struck in the final 17 minutes to give AC Siena a shock 2-0 win at San Siro. Andrea Stramaccioni's Inter have now lost both their home matches in Serie A, while winning their two away outings.

S.S. Lazio, SSC Napoli and UC Sampdoria all lost their 100% records, meanwhile, with Lazio succumbing to Marco Borriello's 79th-minute winner in a 1-0 reverse at Genoa CFC. Napoli were unable to break the deadlock at Calcio Catania, despite their opponents losing Pablo Alvarez to a second-minute dismissal, and an 84th-minute Nicola Pozzi penalty rescued a 1-1 draw for Sampdoria against Torino FC.

Elsewhere, US Città di Palermo remain winless after Cristian Raimondi's late strike gave Atalanta BC a 1-0 win, and ten-man Pescara picked up a first point of the season thanks to Juan Quintero's equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Bologna FC.
