Zbigniew Boniek has been re-elected as Polish Football Association (PZPN) president for another four years.

Boniek took the helm of the PZPN in 2012 after a brilliant career as one of the best players in Polish football history. He began with Zawisza Bydgoszcz before going on to play for Widzew Łódź, Juventus and Roma, and was also briefly the coach of the Polish national team.

"I have been captain of this team for the last few years, and I am glad that I will continue my work for Polish football," the 60-year-old said after his re-election. "We have done much in recent years, and we will continue in this way.

"We will support youth and amateur football and we'll try to help our women's national team emulate the men's team, which is doing really well," he added. "We will also continue working on coach education; we can be proud of our coaching academy, which is one of the best in Europe in my opinion."
