FC Basel 1893 have taken 31-year-old Oliver Stöckli on loan from FC Winterthur for the remainder of the season as cover for injured goalkeeper Franco Costanzo.

Emergency cover
Costanza has been ruled out for several weeks because of a knee injury sustained during the 2-0 UEFA Cup defeat at Sporting Clube de Portugal last week. Louis Crayton replaced him at half-time during that match and the 30-year-old Liberian is likely to be between the posts for Thursday's second leg, with Basel's other two registered goalkeepers for the UEFA Cup being 18-year-old Jayson Leutwiler and 22-year-old Diego Würmli. Stöckli started his career at Basel, later playing for FC St. Gallen, FC Sion, FC Aarau and second division Winterthur, who he joined in the summer of 2006.
