FC Pyunik's 1-0 victory at FC Kilikia on the last day of the season was enough for the visitors to secure their tenth successive Armenian Premier League title.

Nearest challengers FC Banants did all they could, beating FC Shirak 2-1, but ultimately they finished a point adrift of Pyunik, who secured victory against Kilikia courtesy of Marcos Pizzelli's penalty midway through the second half. The champions dominated the encounter from start to finish and Pizzelli was one of three players, along with Gevorg Ghazaryan and Edgar Manucharyan, to go close in the opening period, before he sealed the points with his 16th goal of the season.

"The players showed they deserve to be champions and I give them full credit for that," said coach Vardan Minasyan. "Only true champions win their last four matches in a row when it matters the most. I am happy for the lads and for myself. It is very pleasing to finish on a high and it makes me twice as happy because we won with a young squad.

Striker Gevorg Ghazaryan added: "Pyunik are a winning team built on a solid foundation. This is part of the club's mentality now. We always believed we would win in the end, even though we were a long way off the leaders at times. All credit to the coaches for that. It was not only us who won but the whole club."
