Former Switzerland coach Roy Hodgson will take over at Norwegian side Viking FK next month.

The much-travelled Englishman, whose most recent assignment was as United Arab Emirates coach, will take over on 4 July from director Bjarne Berntsen, who was placed in temporary charge after Kjell Inge Olsen resigned last month.
Long career
A member of the UEFA technical study group at EURO '96™ and UEFA EURO 2000™, Hodgson, 56, began his coaching career in 1976 with Halmstads BK in Sweden. His CV includes spells at Bristol City FC, Örebro SK, Malmo FF, Neuchâtel Xamax FC, FC Internazionale, Blackburn Rovers FC, Grasshopper-Club, FC København and Udinese Calcio.
Disappointing start
Viking moved to a new stadium this spring but have won just one of eight games this season, leaving them well adrift of contention for a top-four position and a place in the inaugural Scandinavian Royal League this coming winter. Hodgson said: "I am looking forward to working in Scandinavia again."
