The Netherlands are within touching distance of securing first place in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 10 after a Genero Zeefuik hat-trick helped them blow away Luxembourg.

What plans Luxembourg started with went out of the window in no time, as the hosts found themselves two down within three minutes. Within seconds of kick-off Jordy Clasie rifled a shot into the top-right corner, and two minutes later Zeefuik slotted in his first, from the spot, after he was fouled by Billy Bernard.

On 37 minutes the PSV Eindhoven attacker was brought down again in the area, this time by Tom Siebenaler; Leroy Fer converted. It was one-way traffic and after the break Zeefuik completed his treble, finishing a delightful passing move before turning in from close range with seven minutes remaining.
