Coach Giovanni Trapattoni has called up injury doubts Shane Long and Robbie Keane to his squad for the Republic of Ireland's UEFA EURO 2012 play-off against Estonia.

West Bromwich Albion FC forward Long suffered a knee injury in last Saturday's Premier League game against Aston Villa FC – a problem the English club said may keep him sidelined for "up to six weeks". Trapattoni has selected him though, while Ireland's captain and record goalscorer Keane is also picked despite playing for neither club nor country since straining an adductor muscle during the 2-0 Group B qualifying victory in Andorra on 7 October.

A third front man, Kevin Doyle, is also named in the 26-man squad, even though he misses the first leg of the play-off through suspension. "There is no room for complacency as we prepare for our two games next month," said Trapattoni, whose side meet Estonia in Tallinn on 11 November before the Dublin decider four days later.

"We will remember that Estonia have as much right to be in the play-offs as ourselves," the Italian added. "They have had some very good results in their group, beating Serbia and Slovenia. They also caused Italy a lot of problems. These games will be a huge challenge for us and we must maintain the correct mentality from start to finish."
