Darida called up as precaution for Rosický

Czech Republic coach Michal Bílek has called up uncapped FK Viktoria Plzeň midfielder Vladimír Darida as a precaution for the injured Tomáš Rosický.

Bílek named a provisional 24-man squad for UEFA EURO 2012 on Monday but has now added Darida to the team's training camp in Austria. Rosický's knock is not set to threaten his involvement in next month's final tournament but Bílek was keen to err on the side of caution.

"I do not think there will be any complications," said the coach. "Tomáš has a minor muscular injury, but is expected to be recovered in a matter of days. I do not think it will be anything worse, but he will have another medical examination on Monday to give us peace in mind. It is not serious enough to panic, but if Tomáš is not fully fit at the end of next week, we will name Darida in our EURO squad and will have to withdraw one of our other players."

"I have a minor problem with a calf, it should not be anything serious," added Rosický. "I had to come off at half-time in my last game for Arsenal. It is nothing serious. I will have another examination on Monday and then I will travel to Austria to join up with the squad."

Bílek also confirmed that goalkeeper Petr Čech, a key member of Chelsea FC's UEFA Champions League-winning side on Saturday, will join up with the rest of the squad on Wednesday evening.

The Czech Republic begin their UEFA EURO 2012 Group A campaign against Russia on 8 June, before taking on Greece four days later and co-hosts Poland on 16 June.
