Despite a 1-0 home defeat by FK Budućnost Podgorica, WKS Śląsk Wrocław's first-leg win in Montenegro secured their place in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

Captain Nikola Vukčević gave Budućnost a perfect start, scoring on 15 minutes and his side had the better of the contest. Śląsk struggled to break down the visitors' defence, but crucially their own backline held firm for the remainder.

Things looked good for the visitors early on, when Vukcević escaped his markers and calmly headed in Dragan Bošković's corner. Budućnost went in search of an aggregate leveller with Bošković and Radivoje Golubović having efforts blocked before Golubović was denied by Śląsk goalkeeper Marian Kelemen.

While the equaliser eluded their guests, Orest Lenczyk's side created little. Marcin Kowalczyk passed up their only real chance in added time as his close-range shot was kept out by Budućnost keeper Jasmin Agović. Fortunately for the home fans, their team's lack of attacking spark did not come back to haunt them, and they can look forward to a third round tie against Swedish champions Helsingborgs IF.
