Austria remain clear in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying Group G after victory against neighbours Liechtenstein in Vaduz.

Liechtenstein, who had won their previous game 1-0 in Moldova, had an early chance when Sandro Wieser's header forced a point-blank save from Robert Almer but Austria were soon in control. The deadlock was broken in the 14th minute when Martin Harnik played a neat one-two with Zlatko Junuzovic, advanced into the box and shot past Peter Jehle.

Two minutes later Marc Janko made it two, tapping in a centre from the left by Marko Arnautovic, who had been set on his way by a perfect ball from David Alaba. Jehle conceded a penalty just past the half-hour when he upended Junuzovic but Alaba put it wide.

Alaba did get his goal in the 59th minute, picking up a Christian Fuchs pass outside the box, turning and sending in a looping shot that eluded the dive of Jehle. With 16 minutes left Janko teed up Junuzovic for the fourth and Arnautovic half-volleyed a fifth. A good result for Austria in Moscow in June would leave them within sight of France.
