Having lost 2-0 at home against England in their opening game, Austria took their first points of the tournament at the expense of an Azerbaijan side who have now lost their first two UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying games, following a 1-0 defeat against Wales last week.
Emphatic win
Andreas Lasnik opened the scoring for Austria after 32 minutes and they increased their advantage in the second half. Roman Kienast doubled the lead after 66 minutes before René Schicker rounded off the result with a third goal five minutes later.
