Russia coach Leonid Slutski has named his 23-man squad for UEFA EURO 2016.

The most notable omissions are the experienced pair of Yuri Zhirkov – suffering from an Achilles injury – and Aleksandr Kerzhakov, who has not scored since 10 April. Also missing are defender Oleg Kuzmin (knee) and midfielder Denis Cheryshev (thigh).

Schalke defender Roman Neustädter, meanwhile, makes the cut. The 28-year-old, who has previously represented Germany, is uncapped. Aleksandr Golovin, a 19-year-old who only broke into the CSKA Moskva first team recently, is also included.

Russia will begin their training camp in Switzerland on 24 May and will then take on Czech Republic (1 June) and Serbia (5 June) in pre-tournament friendlies.
