Albert Celades, Spain coach
It was a battle to qualify, as we expected. Austria are a good team and they were reinforced by players from their senior national team. We knew it was not going to be easy and we didn't play well in the first half. We were too nervous but we played better in the second half. We reached our objective and we are very happy, that is the most important think. Austria's goalkeeper was their best player and made some sensational saves. The atmosphere at the stadium was fantastic. The whole city [Albacete] got behind us. It was the best atmosphere we have had during the whole qualifying round.

Werner Gregoritsch, Austria coach
I am very disappointed, but also proud because of my team's performance. The squad has been unbelievable in both matches against the overwhelming favourites. This U21 team has done something significant in these two games – they didn't lose against Spain, and this is a huge achievement. There is a lot of quality in the squad, which is very positive for the future of Austrian football.
