Prolific Nemeth the Hungary hero

Sweden 0-4 Hungary Krisztian Nemeth's hat-trick took rampant Hungary into the finals in Luxembourg as Group 2 winners.

Hungary are the fifth team to secure a place in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals after Krisztian Nemeth's hat-trick gave them victory against Sweden and first place in Elite round Group 2.

Portugal pipped
At kick-off Hungary led pool hosts Portugal on goal difference, with Ukraine and Sweden both three points adrift. Hungary knew a win would be enough unless Portugal gained a big victory against Ukraine, and as that game finished 2-2, József Both's side were able to celebrate thanks to a second consecutive 4-0 result.

Nemeth treble
Nemeth scored four times in the qualifying round and twice two days ago against Ukraine, before claiming his first today ten minutes in. On 20 minutes he struck again, and the hat-trick was complete on the half-hour. Peter Toth rounded things off five minutes from time. Hungary will be among eight teams in the draw on 6 April in Luxembourg, who stage the finals from 3-14 May.
