Milevskiy raises Ukraine ambitions

Ukraine match-winner Artem Milevskiy believes his side can now go on and win the UEFA European Under-21 Championship after finishing top of Group B following their 2-1 victory over Denmark in Agueda.

'Happy'
The 21-year-old striker scored the deciding goal in an exciting encounter five minutes from time, capitalising on an error in the Danish defence to turn in a free-kick unmarked. The victory took Ukraine to the top of the section on six points, two more than runners-up the Netherlands. "I feel happy but now we have to start preparing for the semi-final," he told uefa.com. "We want to win that match and then think about the final because we can win this tournament. Serbia and Montenegro are a good side but they have lost twice already which means they have weak points which we will look to exploit."

'Real unit'
Milevskiy also scored Ukraine's first goal of the tournament from the penalty spot in their 2-1 win over the Dutch on Wednesday. He was named Carlsberg Man of the Match after that performance and collected the award again here in Agueda as Ukraine continued to prosper in this their first taste of an U21 final tournament. "I would now like to collect two more man-of-the-match trophies, in the semi-finals and the final," he added. "But this is not important – what matters is that we are a real unit, both in terms of the coaching staff and the players. Together we are aiming to produce a performance in the semi-final and do ourselves justice."
