Strike duo earn Malta recalls

Daniel Bogdanovic and Andre Schembri have been included in a 22-man Malta squad for the UEFA EURO 2008™ Group C qualifiers against Moldova and Greece.

Daniel Bogdanovic has been included in a 22-man Malta squad for the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers against Moldova and Greece - the Marsaxlokk FC forward's first call-up in more than three years - as coach Dušan Fitzel contends with a number of injury problems.

Duo return
The 26-year-old Bogdanovic, who won the last of 15 caps against Israel in September 2003, returns after a season which has taken him to the top of the Maltese Premier League scoring charts. Joining him for the Group C games in Chisinau on 24 March and Ta' Qali four days later is the match-winner from the historic victory over Hungary in October, Andre Schembri. The 20-year-old has recovered from the injury which ruled him out of last month's friendly draw against Austria.

Injury problems
However, Fitzel must do without defensive duo Ian Ciantar and Stephen Wellman and striker Terence Scerri, while there are doubts over the fitness of Justin Haber, Gilbert Agius, Andrew Cohen, Kevin Sammut and Peter Pullicino. Malta are fifth in their group, with one victory from three fixtures.
