England midfielder Frank Lampard has been ruled out of tonight's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against Andorra after cracking a bone in his wrist in training.

Training accident
The Chelsea FC player sustained the injury when he was struck by a shot from team-mate Wayne Rooney on Monday. The damage was not initially thought to be too serious, but he has now been withdrawn from the game. Owen Hargreaves is expected to partner Steven Gerrard in the centre of midfield with Aaron Lennon playing on the right and Stewart Downing on the left.

Chelsea concern
It is not known how long it will take the 28-year-old to recover from his injury, but concerns will be raised over his ability to take the field for Chelsea in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Valencia CF in London next Wednesday.

Pressure
After drawing in Israel on Saturday, the pressure is on England to produce a convincing performance against Andorra in Barcelona. They are third in Group E, five points behind leaders Croatia and three adrift of second-placed Russia, having failed to win in five matches - both friendly and competitive.
