Portugal up and running again

Portugal's team bus may not have recovered from its bump outside the Euroborg Stadium but their players were back on their feet in Monday's training session.

False start
The Portuguese made a false start on and off the pitch in Groningen, their getaway being stalled by an hour after the team bus crashed into a floodlight following the goalless draw with Belgium. By lunchtime, however, the incident, rather like the shattered glass outside the stadium, had been brushed under the proverbial carpet.

Top of the agenda was training and certainly not the post-match difference of opinion between coach José Couceiro and the Portuguese press pack, nor the crash soon afterwards which briefly brought everyone back together again. Luckily, the driver was unhurt by the collision - and later absolved of blame following a breath test – and there was no further comment on the incident in the press conference.
