Originally the match was to be played on 4 June but it will now take place on Tuesday 3 June in the southern town of Campobasso with a kick-off time of 21.00CET.
Preparation time
The move gives Italy more time to prepare for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying tie against Finland in Helsinki on 11 June. Giovanni Trapattoni's side are currently second in Group 9, five points behind Wales.
