Kahlenberg receives first call-up

Brøndby IF's Thomas Kahlenberg is the new name in the Denmark squad for the friendly against Ukraine.

Brøndby IF's Thomas Kahlenberg received his first senior international call-up today when Denmark coach Morten Olsen announced his 18-man squad for the friendly against Ukraine on 30 April.

Midfield inspiration
Kahlenberg has been an inspirational figure for Brøndby this season and his selection also followed a superb performance in the Danish Under-21's recent 3-0 win against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Helveg and Lauersen back
Thomas Helveg, who was injured for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying defeat against Bosnia returns to the squad along with AC Milan team-mate Martin Laursen, who served a suspension against Bosnia.

Rytter returns
Per Nieslen steps in to replace Martin Albrechtsen who punctured a lung in FC København's match against Aalborg BK on Sunday. Albrechtsen had taken Thomas Rytter's place against Bosnia after he was injured in the 5-2 away win against Romania, yet Rytter now returns.

Denmark squad
J Nielsen, Sørensen, Henriksen, Jensen, Helveg, Laursen, P Nielsen, Rytter, Kahlenberg, Wieghorst, Gravesen, Michaelsen, Jensen, Tomasson, Rommedahl, Grønkjær, Jørgensen, Sand.
