Günes looks at new faces

Turkey coach Senol Günes has called up four untried players for the friendly against the Czech Republic.

Cup heroics
Trabzonspor midfield player Gokdeniz Karadeniz gets his first call-up after scoring twice as his side lifted the Turkish Cup with a 3-1 win against Gençlerbirligi SK on Wednesday.

Chance to impress
Galatasaray SK midfield player Volkan Aslan and Denizlispor defender Servet Cetin also get a chance to impress. Meanwhile, defender Fatih Sonkaya of Dutch side Roda JC is the latest in a wave of Turks born in western Europe to win a place in the national set-up.

Out of favour
However, the Galatasaray trio of Ümit Davala, Emre Asik and Hakan Ünsal are dropped, while Besiktas JK midfield players Tayfur Havutçu and Ahmet Yildirim are also out. Günes has also chosen to exclude Sergen Yalçin, despite the Besiktas man's return to form, but Ibrahim Üzülmez is included again after recovering from a facial injury.
