Lendvai called back by Hungary

Midfield player Miklos Lendvai has been recalled by Hungary for next month's UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers.

Points wanted
Hungary, third in Group Four with five points from four games, take on leaders Latvia on 7 June before travelling to San Marino four days later. Lendvai, the 28-year-old former FC Girondins de Bordeaux midfield player, last played for his country against F.Y.R. Macedonia in November 2001 before a serious knee injury kept him on the sidelines.

Coach content
"He's in great form with Charleroi, so I called him up," Hungary coach Imre Gellei said. SL Benfica striker Miklos Fehér also returns to Gellei's 22-man squad. Latvia top the group with ten points, ahead of Poland with seven points. Sweden are fourth, equal on points with Hungary, with San Marino yet to earn a point.
