Four second-half goals away to Liechtenstein helped Finland to record their first victory at the fourth time of asking in Group 4.

Summer finals
Markku Kanerva guided Finland to the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship but lost a number of key players who impressed in the finals in Sweden ahead of this qualifying campaign. Point-less after three previous outings in the section, the Finns went in level at half-time at Sportpark Eschen-Mauren before running away with the match after the interval.

Pukki opener
Teemu Pukki, one of the great hopes of this generation of Finnish footballers, broke the deadlock in the 48th minute. Jonne Hjelm then found the net in the 65th and 75th minutes before substitute Aleksei Kangaskolkka completed the scoring two minutes into added time.
