The race for the adidas Golden Boot award given to the top scorer at UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ is proving tight with seven players tied on two goals after the group stage.

German domination
Inka Grings, who top-scored at the 2005 finals, is among that group, alongside team-mates Linda Bresonik and Fatmire Bajramaj, who scored both of her goals after the 90-minute mark after coming on as a substitute in the 4-0 defeat of Norway on Matchday 1. Also on two goals is Finland striker Laura Österberg Kalmari – both against the Netherlands in the 2-1 win that took the hosts through to the quarter-finals – and two players who will be in opposition in Tampere on Thursday; Dutch winger Kirsten van de Ven and France's Camille Abily, one of whose strikes was a penalty. On Monday, Sweden veteran Victoria Sandell Svenson claimed the second goal of what will be her last tournament, equalising in the 1-1 draw against England for the Group C winners.
