Valgaeren returns for Dutch duel

Aimé Anthuenis has recalled defender Joos Valgaeren for Belgium's friendly with the Netherlands.

Aimé Anthuenis has announced a 19-man squad for Belgium's friendly international with the Netherlands in Brussels on 20 August.

Valgaeren recalled
The Belgium coach has recalled Celtic FC defender Joos Valgaeren after missing their last two UEFA EURO 2004™ qualiifers, while FK Austria Wien's Didier Dheedene, Nico van Kerckhoven of FC Schalke 04 and KAA Gent midfield player Gaby Mudingayi are all left out. In addition, Club Brugge KV midfield player Gaëtan Englebert is injured, while Jonathan Walasiak from R. Standard de Liège returns.

'Prestigious meeting'
Anthuenis views the match as important preparation for Belgium's qualifying game with Croatia on 10 September and will be treating the game seriously. His side are third in Group 3, but are level on points with the second-placed Croatians and one behind leaders Bulgaria.
