Privolzhie AMA's Aleksandr Gorbunov has been crowned the leading marksman in the 2009 UEFA Regions' Cup final tournament with four goals, the Russian striker finishing one ahead of Oltenia AMA forward Mirel Adrian Sirbu.
Goals galore
Gorbunov struck a hat-trick in Privolzhie's final Group A match against Bratislava AMA, a feat which sent the 22-year-old two clear of a quintet of players before the final, including Castilla y León AMA captain David Durantez and Sirbu. Sirbu's effort in the final against Castilla was his third of the week-long tournament but it was not enough to overhaul the Privolzhie man. Gorbunov is also one of four players to top the overall scoring charts for the whole competition, which includes the Preliminary and Intermediary rounds. His total of four is matched by Castilla's Antonio Ramírez − who opened the scoring in the final − team-mate Ilya Bolshakov and Region I AMA midfielder Ray Whelehan.
