Article body
Dacia Amateur will enter the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Regions' Cup as the best runners-up from the two preliminary rounds.
Lucky break
The Romanian side missed out on an automatic place in Group 8 after losing 1-0 to Central Slovakia Amateur on the final day of the central/east preliminary round mini tournament in Campina, but have succeeded thanks to a last-day defeat for Northern Ireland Amateur in the central/west group in Slovenia.
Two wins
Having won their two previous games against Latvia Amateur and Estonia Amateur, Dacia needed either Mid Cheshire Amateur or Northern Ireland to drop points in their final games in Slovenia to win the place in Group 2 set aside for the best runners-up in the two qualifying groups.
Surprise defeat
While Mid Cheshire secured a comfortable 4-0 win against Malta Amateur, Primorska Amateur caused a major upset by beating Northern Ireland 3-2 to win their only game of the tournament and leave their opponents to end the tournament as group runners-up with only four points.
Croatia calling
Dacia will now head to Croatia for their Group 2 campaign where they will face teams from the host nation, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
