Opening wins
Having earned a 1-0 win against Tbilisi AMA thanks to a late Doğan Atabek penalty in their opening game, goals from Mustafa Akkaya and Arafet Erbaş gave them a 2-0 win against Sweden's Väjxö BK Smàland AMA to set Müjdat Yetkiner's side up for a final-day decider against Lithuania's Alytis AMA, the only side who could catch them.
Dramatic finale
Alytis had beaten Väjxö 2-0 before drawing 3-3 with Tbilisi, and had one foot in the intermediary round after Virginijus Miknevičius scored in Marijampole. However, the home side's celebrations were to be ended in dramatic style as Marmara were awarded a penalty four minutes into added time, which Doğan Atabek converted to win them the section.
