Group 9: Entity edged out by Swiss Ticino

In-form Entity Amateur of Bosnia-Herzegovina lost out on the final day to Ticino Amateur.

Ticino Amateur of Switzerland edged out Bosnia-Herzegovina's Entity Amateur on the last day to book a place in the 2002/03 UEFA Regions' Cup finals.

Ticino fightback
The outcome of Group 9 was in the balance on the final day when Ticino met Entity with both teams on six points after two games. Ticino won the decisive match 4-2 despite trailing 2-1. Bellini gave the Swiss team an early lead but two goals from Alispahic inside five minutes put Entity ahead. Guerra equalised on the stroke of half-time but it was two second-half penalties, converted by Senkal, that settled the tie.

Puhar penalty
Also on the final day, the Slovenian side MNZ Murska Sobota Amateur, who were hosting the mini-tournament, faced Liechtenstein Amateur with both sides trying to avoid finishing in last place. Murska avoided the ignominy by winning 2-1 thanks to an 86th-minute Puhar penalty.

Guerra goals
Earlier in the group, Ticino beat Murska 1-0 through a Guerra goal before winning 3-1 against Liechtenstein with another goal from Guerra and two from Ardemagni.

Entity fall at the last
Entity, however, looked in sparkling form, ramming four unanswered goals past, first Liechtenstein and then the hosts Murska. Kupreskic was the pick of the scorers with two against Liechtenstein. However, in the crunch game it was Ticino who came out on top to qualify for next June's finals.
