JMKFS Brno 1-3 Malopolska The hosts bow out with their first win of the UEFA Regions' Cup finals.
Malopolska finally gave home fans a reason to celebrate as they won 3-1 against JMKFS Brno in their final Group A game.
Michal Królikowski's men had lost their chance of reaching the final after a 4-0 defeat against group winners South-West Region-Sofia in their second match of the finals, but they recovered from conceding an early goal to dominate the UEFA Regions' Cup match in Wolbrom.
The Czechs, who were severely weakened by the loss of a number of players since the qualifying rounds, were handed an early chance to take the lead as Zdenek Matousek converted an eigth-minute penalty, and they might have doubled their lead on 35 minutes but for a superb saving tackle from Malopolska's Grzegorz Bizon.
However the Polish side were to go in level at the interval as Tomasz Swierkosz finished in the 44th minute, and the same player put Maloposka into the lead two minutes into the second half, completing an excellent flowing move with a tidy finish to beat Jaroslav Flicek in the Brno goal.
Malopolska have finished in third place in Group A, one point behind Central Slovakia's whose 2-2 draw in Zabierzow was not quite enough to lift them about Sofia and into the final. Brno end bottom of the table having lost all three of their group games. They are the only side who failed to pick up a point in Poland.
